Whereas Nova Scotia, under the Canada Health Act, is not responsible to cover the cost of treatments taken outside of a hospital; and
Whereas Nova Scotia is not responsible for costs associated with supportive medications; and
Whereas cancer patients have the right to the most effective care recommended by their doctors;
We, the undersigned, petition the Government of Nova Scotia to develop policy, that will provide financial assistance for costs associated with the treatments and supportive medications needed by Nova Scotians living with cancer and other chronic illnesses.
