We, representatives from the women’s and men’s auxiliaries, having formed in open sessions, reviewed the health of our church in the light of its declining membership, attendance, ministry participation, and the recent alarming assessment and the non binding prescriptions offered by the American Baptist Churches of the West “Growing Healthy Churches”.
We, further acknowledge our long association with ABCW, its previous evaluations, and this congregation's faithful approval of the church model adapted from the ABCW's 2004 assessment.
We, conclude in agreement, that the prescription as implemented was apparently ineffective for our church and has resulted in ministries without operating procedures, clear directions and some remain void of leadership all together.
We the undersigned, call on the members of Cordova Baptist Church (CBC) to repeal the CBC By-Laws approved February 24, 2008. We further petition your approval to reinstate the CBC By-Laws that were suspended based on the November 8, 2004, assessment and recommendation from the American Batist Churches of the West.
