The facts are that Minors opening a Bank Account need a Parental Signature. If you are Disabled you need A Power Of Attorney/Deputy Court order Protection. We have confirmed that these restrictions are still in place and should not be!

Disabled Persons ARE being discriminated against because they are not able.

To open a Bank Account under the age of 16 you need a parental signature. If you are Disabled and over 16 you need a Parental Power Of Attorney Or a Deputy Court Of Protection.

I am trying to change the Rules, so Disabled people over the age of 16 have the same Laws as a minor. To apply for A Power Of Attorney, you need 1) A Signature AND 2) You need the permission, signature and understanding of the person involved.

If the Disabled persons involved was able to "sign for it" then A Power Of Attorney would not be needed. I feel Disabled people are discriminated against having their own Bank Account due to not being able to "sign for it". Please help with this petition, as the more signatures we get, the more likely we can get these bank accounts open for people who have a right to have one AS MUCH AS ABLE PEOPLE!

I am waiting on clarification from the Evening Post and already had issued information to my Local MP.
