Right to Work in Manchester has helped to initiate a campaign against the closure of mental health wards in Manchester.
A mental health unit with 82 beds, which treats people with dementia and other conditions, is set to close in a bid to cut costs.
Health bosses want to close Edale House, near MRI, and move patients to Park House in Crumpsall.
‘Edale House is a new unit which serves the whole of the city centre. Moving people to the edges of the city will make it much harder for their relatives to visit – this contact is vital for their recovery,’ says Paul Reed from the Manchester Users Network.
We the undersigned are opposed to the closure of Edale House. We call on our councilors to ensure that at the Wellbeing Scrutiny Committee they block these proposals.
