During the summer months, The borough of Verdun becomes a maggot and fly infested mess. Why?
The answer to that question is simple... we ONLY have ONE garbage collection per week in our borough.
The problem actually has become unbearable!
People have resorted to leaving garbage in lanes and on the streets, bringing it to other sections of the borough, and are using the garbage receptacles of schools, businesses, and the like; All to avoid the unpleasant surprise of a maggot filled balcony (or a mess where ever one may leave their garbage until pick up day). Then after the maggots, comes the flies. IT IS TERRIBLE!!!!!
As citizen of the 'Mega' city of Montreal we should be entitled to the services that the other boroughs have. Our neighbors to the west, in LaSalle, have a second garbage collection up during the summers months. This is just common sense!!
I am tired of walking down my street, the night before garbage day, and seeing small clouds of flies hovering above garbage bags on our sidewalks.
I propose that we try to get as many signatures on this petition, and present it to the people who WE voted in to serve US! It will only take a moment of your time.

We, the people who live, own businesses, and most of all.... pay taxes, in the borough of Verdun (City of Montreal) demand that the borough increase the number of days for garbage removal from one(1) day to two(2) days during the warmer summer months.
This is a service that other boroughs in the City of Montreal have!
We (the people who elected you) ask that You (the elected persons) follow through on the demands of your citizens; We have the right to the same comfort, consideration, and services that are given to others in the very same city (Montreal) that we live in.
