The glaring problem within our neighborhood is the property at 54-52 East 126th Street. This building has been neglected by its owners for many years and is now being inhabited by squatters who are dealing drugs, engaging in prostitution, urinating and defecating in the courtyard (attracting many rodents and vermin) and using this property as a dump for their stolen possessions. The property is also collapsing (see photos). It is unsafe and a potential fire hazard for our street.
We, the undersigned (dwellers of , call on the City of New York to take action against 52-54 E. 126th Street and properly seal off the front and back of the property.
Additionally we ask that a chain link fence be erected around the perimeter of the property to discourage trespassers and provide visibility to the community.
