For the last 5 world cups (1994, 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010) the England football team has been unable to compete with the best football teams from around the world.
English players are not technically skilled enough to be competitive at this level because young players are not encouraged to develop football skills and not enough English players are playing in the premier league to create competition for places in the national team.
I support the introduction of a quota for 7 players on the pitch at all times who are eligible to play for England.
I believe this is the only way to get the football clubs in England to produce more talented English players who can make a competitive England team in the future.
