A campaign is being run to have the 3G Telstra tower recently installed at 28 Morris St removed. The campaign organisers claim that the majority of Summer Hill residents support their campaign and are collecting names for a petition at http://gopetition.com.au/online/34579.html.

I WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT AN ALTERNATE PETITION SUPPORTING THE RESIDENTS OF 28 MORRIS ST AND STATING THAT THE TOWER NOW INSTALLED DOES NOT PRESENT A SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH IMPACT ON THE SUMMER HILL ENVIRONMENT TO WARRANT ITS REMOVAL GIVEN ITS ROLE IN PROVIDING SERVICES TO SUMMER HILL RESIDENTS, MOST OF WHOM ARE MOBILE USERS.

My personal feelings on this issue and several references to information about potential health effects (or lack thereof) are outlined in a series of comments here:

I am very concerned about the lack of informed debate around this issue, the fear-mongering based on very little or sometimes opposing scientific evidence and even more about the villainisation of Karen and her family over the last few months. They are good people, long term residents of the suburb and they need our support!

I believe that a significant number of Summer Hill residents understand that these towers have to go somewhere for us to enjoy mobile services.

If you agree please take a moment to sign this petition, otherwise our silence will be taken as implicit agreement with the alternate position.

Best Regards,
Robin Hilliard

We, the undersigned, do not believe that the 3G Tower erected at 28 Morris St Summer Hill presents a significant enough impact on the Summer Hill environment to warrant its removal, considering its role in providing mobile services to Summer Hill residents.
