Violet Park #2 has been an adult baseball field for the past few decades. It is located in a predominately Afro-American section of the Parish.
It has been run by the same league for many years and now that is being threatened. We have been denied access and adequate equipment for our children. They have a a partial basketball court and three swings. It is also adjacent to a busy highway and cemetery.
We, the undersigned, are asking St. Bernard Parish Government, Parish President Craig Taffaro, and Council Members to provide the citizens of Eastern St. Bernard Parish, including Highland, Violet, Goodwill, etc. with a proper playground for our youth.
We would like for there to be a mulitcultural/multipurpose center, ample swings, and other playground equipment that is safe and accessible to all citizens in the Parish.
