Paul's family have lived in or around the Hamlet of Marten for over 80 years. Paul has brought up his family here and now finds himself in the unfortunate position of having two teenage daughters sharing one small bedroom.

To rectify this untenable situation Paul applied to the council to build a new four bedroom dwelling adjacent to his existing home on land that he already owns, that already has access to the road and to all normal services.

Extending the families existing end of terrace property is not a viable option due to it being a concrete pre-fabricated construction. Additionally Paul's neighbours are both retired and the noise and mess of an extension would no doubt distress them.

Another consideration is the thriving, Sir William Bentley Billiards business, in the Hamlet. Staff from here are always looking for accommodation and having an additional dwelling in the hamlet must be a benefit.

Paul's only other option is to uproot his family and leave the Hamlet to find alternative accommodation.

We the undersigned request that the council re-consider Paul Murray's planning application.

Paul and his family are valuable assets to the Hamlet and they are always willing to help their neighbours in any way possible.

It would be a significant loss to the community if Paul and his family were forced to relocate.
