Due to the recent decisions made by our Municipal Council to close the doors on our pool, gymnasium and to cancel such programs as hip-hop, gymnastics and Winter Fest it is felt that the council that WE voted in to serve OUR COMMUNITY, no longer has the community's best interest at heart.
OUR COUNCIL chose to Close OUR Facilities, instead of finding a more suitable solution ! This is a clear message to the towns people that they don't care much about your programs, or activities, which in turn means we don't care much about us either!
For those of you who feel that it was a "STAFF ISSUE" and that it had to be bad for council to do what they did... I suggest you find out what really happened! Both facilities did not have to be closed and council had better solutions to the issue but making the community punish would prove a point!
We, the undersigned, call on the councillors of Hornepayne who voted in favour of closing the pool and gymnasium facility to submit letters of resignation effective immediately.
