This Court is making money by targeting people outside the Great Neck area. When these people receive a parking ticket, no ticket is left on the car. Instead, they wait years before contacting the person, allowing time for many dollars in fines to build up and then send them a letter notifying them that they must pay a severely elevated amount.
If the person decides to fight the ticket, then fine is usually reduced to amount still many times the amount of original ticket. People pay because they don’t want to have to travel back to Great Neck Court to plead “not guilty” and feel they have no other recourse.
We, the undersigned, call on the office of the New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to look into the unfair tactics used by the Village Court of Great Neck.
