Background (Preamble):
Currently, 7% of our energy comes from renewable resources. Specifically in the Federal Research and Development, 13% of the funds go to renewable resource research, while over half of the funding goes to military.
Although this is incredibly important, fossil fuels are rapidly depleting and the importance of research towards renewable resources are becoming more and more vital.

We, the undersigned residents of California, draw the attention of the Government to the following:
The drastically low percentage of funds from the Federal Research and Developments that reach Renewable Resources has recently come to our attention. Due to our rapidly depleting fossil fuel supply, it is of the utmost importance the funding for renewable research increases dramatically. Currently it is roughly 13% of total funds, and we suggest it increases to at least 18%.
By signing this petition, we agree to promote research on renewable energy resources through the Federal Research and Development funds.
