The People of Newfoundland & Labrador have for generations been campers. Using public land, these people have camped along roadways, logging roads, water ways and lakes. These people use campers of various types. Some people pick different sites throughout the Province, park their campers, then return as frequently as possible to enjoy the area. Some people even spend their entire summers doing this. Since it is public land, they should not be restricted from enjoying our Province. As long as these campers are of a mobile type there should be no restrictions from any Government body as to the length of time spent at any location. If the Government for some reason thinks it necessary to control this camping activity, the proper and acceptable solution would be to - require each camper to purchase a camping permit for their vehicle requiring annual renewal - or - to purchase the Crown Land for the purchase of installing the camper vehicle. The inter-structure is already in place within the Lands Branch to care for this. The funds obtained could used for Health Care and Education.

We, the undersigned, call on the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to cease requiring campers to be removed from Crown Land (unless it poses a danger to the public).

We suggest a camper licensing program to replace the removal order.

We suggest Crown Land be made available for sale upon request as a camping site.
