Newark Pool Operation Procedures

We the undersigned call on the Mayor Cory Booker & the City of Newark NJ to help rectify the problems his citizens of Newark are having with the Aquatic centers by:
1. Ensuring city pool employees adhere to the scheduled hours of pool operation.
2. Ensuring the aquatic centers post the updated times of operation.
3. Have pool employees refrain from restricting entry of patrons from the pool before scheduled & posted closing times.
4. Make sure the adequate numbers of employees arrive on time to their jobs as to ensure the pool is opened on time.
5. Ensure the entire pool & its dive boards are available for use at all times & not just when ever the employees feel like it.
6. Ensure lifeguards are posted at the deep end at all times so swimmers can utilize the entire pool.
7. Ensure employees refrain from harassing patrons who question employee’s abuse of power & authority by running the pool as they please. Employees should be made to take patrons (who pay their salaries, I might add) complaints seriously.
8. Ensure scheduled draining or maintenance of the pool is announced one week in advance so as not to cause patrons frustration when they show up to a closed pool.
9. Last but most importantly, have the summer pool hours be longer instead of shorter. The pool should go back to opening at 7:30 AM & not be changed to 9:30 AM like it was abruptly changed recently.
10. Have the closing times of the pool extended to 7:30 PM on Saturdays.
