This petition was created to help single custodial parents who receive little or no help from the non custodial parent.
The child support collection unit garnishes ALL child support checks every $500.00 or every fiscal year, whichever comes first for a "Processing Fee". They deduct this processing fee from your child's check, so your weekly amount for that week is less.
This petition was created to try to ban this "Processing Fee" from being taking away from our children. Instead it should be taken away from the non custodial parent paying the child support.
It is hard enough collecting child support, and being a single parent, so why should our children be punished as well?
