April 13th a city ordinance was passed to allow the sale of alcohol on commercial properties if the vote of alcohol sales is passed in our upcoming election.
There are no guidelines set out as to the quantity or quality of these types of businesses. The people of Reno need more guidelines than the ones mention of proximity to Schools, Churches, Day-care and hospitals.
We the people need to be included in the guidelines. There are more relevant issues at hand for our neighborhoods to remain safe, and clean.
The residences of Turtle Creek wish to oppose the sale of alcohol at the entrance of Preston Rd in Reno. The property owners of the two properties that are zoned commercial have publicly announced putting alcohol beverage businesses at these locations.
These two properties are in front of the residential area of a subdivison with lots of children. The property value would decline with the additional traffic, safety which is already a hazard getting in and out of Turtle Creek. The additional road use and wear and tear, additional trash.etc...
