#Exterior Maintenance of Property
Target:
Representatives of the Tell City Council - Tell City, IN
Region:
Tell City, Indiana (USA)

Request local Tell City Council pass an ordinance whereby residences (city property owners) within the city limits of city must maintain the exterior of properties including items such as lawns mowed regularly, unsitely overgrown shrubs taller than homes, underbrush cut away from existing trees & shrubs, trash including cardboard, aluminum cans & disposable items not allowed to collect & remain on properties.

This causes the value of surrounding homes to go down in value. The overgrown shrubs, trees, & bushes can be a safety hazard to a neighbor, specifically with a potential sex offender hiding behind these listed waiting to grab, potentially molest an individual. Around 2007, it was brought to our attention, a male person was seen lurking outside homes located (24 & 26 Eleventh St) at 2 P.M. at night. There are single females who live in the block of Eleventh Street who do not have garages to drive their cars into at night.

We, the undersigned, call on the members of the Tell City Council to act upon this petition by passing an ordinance whereby all property owners must maintain their exterior properties to include all items listed above. These changes would prevent the lowering of value of surrounding homes and promote safety to the neighborhoods in addition to beautifying the neighborhoods.
