Stop the Gas Chamber at the Warner Robins Animal Shelter

It has been brought to my attention that the state of Georgia is still allowing Warner Robins to euthanize thousands of animals per year with an outdated gas chamber. This method of carbon monoxide poisoning is a slow and traumatic death ranging anywhere from 20-45 minutes depending on the animal, and is inhumane.

This cruelty has gone on far too long and needs to be stopped. There is no excuse not to switch to injection since the cost of euthanasia by gas per animal is $4.66 without a tranquilizer and $4.98 with a tranquilizer. In contrast injection costs only $2.29 per animal.

We, the undersigned, call on the people of Georgia to stop the use of the gas chamber on innocent animals in the Warner Robins Animal Shelter.
