Background (Preamble):
The current abortion policy states that a woman can abort her baby within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. However, by this time the baby is already able to perform bodily functions and is on its way to becoming a developed human being.
We would like to amend this policy to only allow abortions to be performed within the first eight weeks of pregnancy.

Petition:
We, the undersigned, call the Illinois government to prohibit abortions after 8 weeks into the pregnancy, with the exception of the mother's life being endangered.
