We, the undersigned, respectfully call upon the Township of Nutley, NJ, to protect the students of Good Shepherd Academy. The students are helpless against the speeding vehicles on Harrison Street and subsequently, unable to safely cross the street, upon dismissal from school at 2:45pm.

On Harrison Street, between Brookline Avenue and Moore Street, it is impossible to safely cross the street, even when parents are accompanying these children, the drivers do not comply with the flashing 25 mph school zone sign located at the very spot the crosswalk should be clearly marked. I urge you to place a radar indicator at the above mentioned site, and this will confirm my rationale.

Please provide these students with the basic safety that all children and pedestrians should be entitled to as citizens of the United States of America. Isn't it our basic right and your sworn duty to bring our children home safely?

Respectfully Yours,

The Concerned Parents of Good Shepherd Academy

A clearly marked crosswalk, on Harrison Avenue between Brookline Avenue and Moore Street in Nutley, New Jersey 07110, in accordance with the required safety standards issued by the New Jersey State Department of Transportation and Safety. To include painted yellow lines along with clearly marked yellow pedestrian crosswalk signs visible to all motorists.
