Evidence of Discrimination at KPMG Cayman
There is something wrong at KPMG Cayman. Exactly what - that is for you to conclude!
In KPMG there are mainly 3 levels of perfomance - below expectation, meets expectation and above expectation. These are measured according to perfomance. In the last 7 months, there have been at least 5 persons of african descent fired for non performance from kpmg (3 of them or 75% by the same partner). This raises an important question- are the africans just not performing or.... So it is either the KPMG recruitment program from africa is not working - or the coaching and improvement program is not. Why on Earth do you get someone all the way and then fire them after 5 months? You see the catch is, the KPMG performance measure is based on engagements and i can guarantee you that 95% of the engagements reviews are "meets expectations" including those who were fired. So if they were firing non performers. who would then fall in the same class, kpmg would be a ghost place. Infact the guys who were fired have constantly performed as above expectations.
So why were the fired? And why is it that it is kpmg onlly among the audit firms whose african employees do not seem to be performing?
I will add more when I learn more from kpmg as i certainly would rather die than be discriminated against as a Caymanian of Black descent..
