I had over 80 signatures when I went around our neighborhood and Nature's Fuel called a community meeting to discuss our concerns. If Nature's Fuel follows up on the promises made at this meeting that was held I believe that our community will be safe. Thank you to all who took the time to care.
Before Nature's Fuel was allowed to begin building, they had a meeting before Kosciusko County Zoning Board. This meeting was held during the middle of the day of a workweek. My husband, Troy, attended this meeting and spoke out against this company being allowed to use the property because of fears of noise and air pollution.
It was stated by Nature's Fuel attorneys that there would be no dust or noise. The rezoning was allowed.
Since this time there has been constant noise, dust pollution on neighboring homes' vehicles, an overabundance of flies and several fires had been set to burn their trash that produce a thick choking smoke that penetrates surrounding homes. There has been flooding in the area and there had been no flooding prior.
They had also agreed to build at a certain distance from the road, but then had had to ask area residents to allow them to keep the building they had constructed that was built at an illegal distance from the roadway.
Now, Nature's Fuel is stating they would like to add machines that will knowingly cause minor air pollution.
We, the undersigned, say "NO!" to polluting our air, water or land. We ask all those, with the authority, to please consider what position you would hold if this business were next door to you in your town.
We ask that you deny this businesses request to go forth with their plans that will further pollute our town.
