We object to the proposed development (EPF/0330/2008) for residential use of
land stretching the length of Chigwell High Road between Green Lane and
Vicarage Lane as it would lead to loss of Green Belt Land and an intolerable
increase in traffic.
In particular, the development is against policy PPG2 (January 1995) which
points out that the Government attaches great importance to the Green Belt.
Neither is it in accordance with the Epping Forest District Local Plan adopted July 2006, which reiterates "within the Green Belt there is a presumption against inappropriate development. Except in very exceptional circumstances planning permission will not be granted."
No such exception al circumstances apply to this planning application.
The Metropolitan Green Belt is an integral part of the locality and is a facility enjoyed by all residents and many people from outside the immediate area.
We urge the Local Planning Authority to reject the application and confirm its
commitment to the Local Plan.
