Cap is a symbol of slavery and Sikhs are not allowed to wear it as per Sikh Rehat Maryada (Code Conduct of Sikhism).

For last 2-3 years new type of cap popularly known as Bandana (a pre-stiched) patka shaped cap is available in every gurdwara. Sikh Youth has accepted the same in huge number as it is easy to wear and it makes them look better which is indeed replacing Guru's gift of Dastar(Turban).

SikhiSidak.com has started this drive to contact Gurdwara Management Committee to stop & ban the selling of this cap in Gurdwara Premises. Please support this drive so that we can encourage youth and create awareness about the Guru's Gift of Dastaar.
