There are currently no cross walk signals at the intersection of Hillside Place, Edwards Street, and Prospect Street.
This intersection is a high traffic area for students commuting between many buildings on the Yale Campuses (Forestry, Divinity, Administrative Buildings, Yale Farm) and community members who walk and run on Prospect Street.
Edwards Street is a very high traffic thoroughfare during morning and afternoon rush hours, common times for pedestrian traffic. The left-hand turn for eastbound traffic on Hillside turning to Edwards makes predicting traffic flows without a signal indicator difficult and dangerous.
Please sign this petition so that we can help make this intersection safer and less stressful for pedestrians using the area.
We, the undersigned, call on the New Haven Department of Traffic and Parking to install walk-signals at the intersection of Edwards Street, Hillside Place, and Prospect Street in the city of New Haven.
