PETITION
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED SBS RADIO LISTENERS, MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS OF THE VIETNAMESE COMMUNITY IN AUSTRALIA, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE VIETNAMESE COMMUNITY, RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THE BOARD OF SBS:
1- Establish, as soon as possible, a clear protocol in regards to SBS’ signing up commercial advertisements that could be or, after signing, found to be the cause of unrest and/or conflict with the wellbeing of the Vietnamese community;
2- Reaffirm the SBS’ current policy of neutrality and balance to the listeners in matters that could potentially undermine SBS’ impartial position, particularly in connection with public protests or rallies; and SBS will not, under any circumstances, give airtime, promotion or announcements for any party related to such activity prior to the event.
