With the upcoming season 10 of the Ultimate Fighter reality show, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida are being discussed as the next coaches. In order for mixed martial arts to become a fully legitimized sport, we can no longer have the champions participating in a 6 month long marketing stunt prior to a title defense.
This would never happen in boxing and it should not happen in mma. The show was a great idea for the first few seasons but as it progresses it becomes less relevant to the success of the sport, especially when title fights are being held off because of the show.
We the undersigned, wish to express our discontent with the continuous procrastination of championship bouts due to The Ultimate Fighter television show.
We would be greatly disheartened if Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida were coaches for the next season of The Ultimate Fighter.
As long time fans and loyal customers to the UFC, we are only interested in watching championship fighters compete in the octagon rather then on a show.
