Upon it's inception in 2008 the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority changed from a uniform rate to a tiered rate structure.
This new increasing tiered rate structure caused a significant increase in the price of water and placed an unfair financial burden on families.
I am a Cape Fear Public Utility Authority customer. I agree that the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority's tiered water rates are oppressive and discriminate against families. I also agree that our water rates should be changed back to a uniform block rate, where all customers pay the same rate for the water they use.
I understand The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority Executive Committee is solely responsible for setting our water rates. Finally, I agree that the change to uniform block rates should be done immediately.
