Mütter fordern die WAHLFREIHEIT zwischen Arzt und Hebamme in der Betreuung von Schwangerschaft, Geburt und Wochenbett!
Das ist zur Zeit in Österreich nicht möglich: Die Krankenkasse akzeptiert keinen von einer Hebamme abgestempelten Mutter-Kind-Pass! Obwohl die Schwangerschaft, die Geburt und das Wochenbett das erklärte Berufsbild der Hebamme ist, müssen die fünf verpflichtenden Vorsorgeuntersuchungen in der Schwangerschaft bei einem Gynäkologen/in und die fünf verpflichtenden Untersuchungen des Babys im ersten Lebensjahr bei einem Kinderarzt/ärztin durchgeführt werden, wenn die Mutter nicht auf rund 2.000 Euro Kinderbetreuunggeld verzichten will oder kann.
Mütter fordern die Anerkennung der Hebammenbetreuung und Gleichstellung mit der ärztlichen Betreuung im Mutter-Kind-Pass
- für alle Schwangerschaftsuntersuchungen und
- für die ersten zwei verpflichtenden Untersuchungen des Babys
- und die damit verbundene Auszahlung des vollen Kinderbetreuungsgeldes auf die gesamte Laufzeit
Die GEBURTSALLIANZ ÖSTERREICH gründet sich auf eine Mütterinitiative und ist ein Zusammenschluss von Einzelpersonen und Organisationen zur Umsetzung einer babyfreundlichen und mütterfreundlichen Geburtshilfe vom Standpunkt der Frauen und Babys als KonsumentInnen medizinischer und sozialer Dienstleistungen.

FREEDOM OF CHOICE for Mother-Child-Bill of Health
Mothers demand freedom of choice between gynaecologist and midwife for care in pregnancy, birth and confinement!
This is not possible in Austria at the moment: The Health Insurance does not accept the bill of health which was stamped by midwives! Although pregnancy, birth and confinement is the declared job description of midwives, all five obligatory preventive examinations in pregnancy have to be done at a gynaecologist and all five obligatory examinations of the baby in the first year have to be done at a paediatrician, if the mother cannot or do not want to waive about 2.000 Euro child-care-allowance.
Mothers demand approval of midwife-care and equality with care of doctors in the Mother-Child-Bill of Health
- for all pregnancy examinations and
- for the first two obligatory examinations of the newborn
- and full payment of related child-care allowance over the entire term
The GEBURTSALLIANZ ÖSTERREICH (Childbirth Alliance Austria) is based on a mothers initiative and is an incorporation of individuals and organisations for a babyfriendly and motherfriendly maternity care from a woman’s and baby’s viewpoint as consumers of medical and social services.
