Background (Preamble):
Residents of the deck access flats in Pollokshields are calling for them to be demolished to make way for brand new housing.
A recent report published as part of the GoWell health study found that one in three families in the flats have at least one family member who suffers from asthma.
Residents complain that the flats are damp, cramped, hard to heat and have poor noise insulation.
Southside Housing Association and Glasgow Housing Association are working together to create a plan to demolish the flats to make way for new homes.
Glasgow City Council has the power to fill the last piece of the funding jigsaw to make the development happen.
